I’m not usually one to call attention to my birthday, but, hey, I’m spending today in quarantine; I might as well celebrate on my blog!
I’m not gonna lie; I feel a little cheated out of my 27th year, seeing that the whole world shut down just days after my last birthday… But I have a good feeling that 28 will be a good year regardless of what happens – I just feel it in my bones.
I found this tag over at The Bookworm Shelf, and, according to her, I think it was initially created by Brunette Bibliophile over on YouTube. I know there’s a ton of birthday book tags, but this one seemed like the most fun to me, so here we go!
Count your birthday along your bookshelf and then subtract your birth month.

Title: On Dublin Street | Author: Samantha Young | Genre: Contemporary Romance
I distinctly remember borrowing this book from the adorable library in my college town in my junior year of college. I fell in love with these characters, and this was the first book that made me really want to visit Scotland! Post-COVID that will be my first international trip for sure!
If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character, who would it be and why?

Title: A Court of Mist and Fury | Author: Sarah J. Maas | Genre: Fantasty
Can I say the entire Inner Circle of the Night Court in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series?? Specifically, Rhys, Cassian, and Azriel for obvious reasons… Besides the fact that the bat boys are smoking hot and amazing, I also just love the dynamic of this whole crew, and I would love to spend my birthday drinking wine with Feyre and Mor, talking shit with Cassian and hopefully making Azriel fall in love with me…
Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.

Title: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue | Author: V.E. Schwab | Genre: Fantasty/Historical Fiction
This book takes place over the span of multiple seasons, but a big part of it starts in March! Specifically, March 10th – Addie’s Birthday! And also my grandma’s lol
Find a book that is the color of your birthstone.

Title: Ugly Love | Author: Colleen Hoover | Genre: Contemporary Romance
My birthstone is an aquamarine, so the closest to that color that I can find on my bookshelves would be Ugly Love by the fabulous Colleen Hoover. I gotta be honest, this is one of those books I read years ago, and I know I loved it… but I don’t really remember it. So, this is definitely one I gotta reread ASAP!
Pick a book set in a time period, world, or country you would like to have been born in.

Title: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone | Author: J.K. Rowling | Genre: YA Fantasy
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve longed to live in the world of Harry Potter! Yes, it’s just our current world with a secret wizarding world, but that’s kind of the appeal of it. Who wouldn’t want to have magical powers and attend a school like Hogwarts?? No one, that’s the answer.
So, we’ve all have a birthday in quarantine at this point – what did you all do on your birthday this past year?
Happy Birthday! Love this post! I’d want to spend my birthday with the inner circle too! I had my 21st in lockdown back in November and my family made me a cake, afternoon tea and decorated the downstairs with lots of balloons!
